Can You Trust The Reviews Of HDTV Televisions?

We have seen reviews of HDTV televisions all over the place. From magazines to consumer reviews, they all contain reviews of HDTV televisions. But, is this the best way to go? Do these HDTV reviews offer the unbiased information you need to buy a HDTV set? As you read this article, you will discover more about these HD TV ratings.

Reviews of HDTV televisions come in many flavors. These can be in several types, such as:

* Reviews in magazines and newspapers

* Reviews from manufacturers

* Reviews online

* HDTV Ratings and consumer HDTV ratings

* Reviews in magazines and newspapers

We have all seen the reviews of HDTV televisions in newspapers and magazines. It seems like we get access to the latest high definition television sets. It seems to inform and give us an idea of several different HD LCD TV sets.

The reviews are great, but they can be limiting. Also what we often don’t hear is that these TV sets are sent free for testing by the manufacturers. And as anything teaches us – if someone gives you a free lunch, you are likely to sing and dance about it!

Even though the reviews of HDTV’s are great, they can be biased with technology journalists simply using the set in the office. Also the sets in these reviews, give you a small selection of the most popular sets, and not what may meet your needs.

* Reviews from manufacturers

Reviews from the manufacturers of high definition television sets must be taken with a pinch of salt. These reviews are great to learn about the features and technical details, but relying on them is not the best way to decide which set you want to buy.

* Reviews online

Like magazines and newspapers, online you can find websites that offer reviews. Some of these sites are so big, that the manufacturers give them a set for review. Again, you want to look at several different reviews before deciding on a set to buy.

* HDTV Ratings and consumer HDTV ratings

HDTV ratings are becoming popular online. Some of the sites may have 2 types of review – those from the owners, editors or contributors to the site, and those from consumers.

These sites can offer a lot of information and give you a two sided view – those from professionals, and those from consumers who are using that TV on a day to day basis. You will need to be careful who you interpret the consumer views. There have been many instances where people “flame” reviews with either too positive or too negative reviews. A great idea is to make up your own mind, with all this advice.

Satellite Family asked:

Selection of your satellite internet plan is an extremely important step in getting broadband internet via satellite from HughesNet. Don’t be lead into cheaper plans which offer minimal speeds when you can upgrade your plan and receive far superior speed for only ten dollars. The home package is the basic HughesNet plan and offers basic speed of 700kbps. This will get the job done but if you are upgrading from dial up to gain faster downloads and quicker web page loading, don’t sell yourself short. The Pro or the Pro Plus package is what you need. The Pro plan offers speeds up to 1000kbps and can handle connections for 2-3 computers. Another benefit of the pro package is its ability to handle wireless connections for laptops and other wireless accessories. The big brother of all the residential packages is the Pro Plus an extremely versatile package allowing its users all the same capabilities of DSL and T1 lines. The Pro Plus Package offers blazing speeds of 1500kbps and even has the capabilities of a static IP, a must for users seeking secure connections to servers.

Upload speeds also vary with the different HughesNet Packages. Upload speed plays an important role in sending emails, pictures, and files. If you plan to send a lot of files especially pictures or large documents a high upload speed is what you need. The Home package offers upload speeds of 128kbps which is a large increase over dial up. The Pro and the Pro Plus boast download speeds of up to 200 kbps.

All Residential HughesNet Plans come with these features: 24/7 live technical support there to help you with all your needs including setting up email accounts and billing questions; 5 free email accounts with up to 2GB of email storage allowing for plenty of room for storing photos, videos, and files; email defense that blocks and prevents spam mail and viruses via email; a personalized start page just like AOL or any other large scale internet service provider; HughesNet offers it’s customers a personalized start page with email, news, and other important content HughesNet customers specify; equipment and standard installation is included with all HughesNet packages and all HughesNet packages come standard with a 24 month equipment warranty covering the satellite dish and modem.

Digital Tv: Why Make The Switch?

Posted by | Posted in Cable And Satellite Tv | Posted on 19-04-2009

Victoria Cochrane asked:

Mention TV market developments, and digital television is sure to dominate the conversation in no time. Digital is undeniably the new wave of innovation in the realm of television. But what’s all the hype about, and is it worth making the switch from analog television?

There are various reasons as to why so many UK TV consumers are opting for digital television. For starters, digital TV channels take up less bandwidth – which, in turn, means that broadcasters can offer consumers a greater number of digital channels in the same space. Moreover, those who opt for digital TV are usually given the option to utilise various other services, including digital interactivity, multimedia, electronic programme guides, language and subtitle options, or multiplexing – where more than one programme is allowed on the same channel. This, of course, is all in addition to the high-definition quality offered with digital television. Digital television offers images made up of smaller pixels – and more of them – compared to analog TV. So images are crisper, cleaner and more detailed.

Digital TV is also advantageous in that its signals react less fiercely to interference than analog signals. For instance, interference with analog signals might result in the ghosting of images and disruptive noises. However, digitised signals won’t experience problems like these because digital TV tuners and converter boxes receive numeric information by the antenna. The decoder only requires enough information to assemble a picture – and the only way the process can fail is if the tuner or converter box doesn’t receive substantial information from the antenna. Even then, the interference is minimal.

With so many advantages to digital TV, it makes sense that so many UK TV viewers are making the switch from analog television. But with all the digital TV options available on the market, it could be difficult to choose a service that’s right for you. If you’re considering switching from analog to digital, keep in mind that there are various methods to effectively narrow your options to fit your needs.

To start, keep in mind that many digital television offers might include various other services as part of a package – so explore all package offerings, keeping an eye out for services that might benefit you most. For example, you can find digital TV packages which give you the option of choosing the types of channels you receive – so you’ll gain access to the programmes you love the most.

And finally, you’ll want to pay close attention to pricing. Make sure you take note of any minimum contract requirements or pre-planned changes in monthly charges, so you know exactly how much you’ll be paying for your digital TV service.

It may take time to find the right service that you are happy with; therefore, it is important to take your time to fully understand the benefits that digital TV can offer you before you make the switch.

How to Watch NBC, CBS, FOX, CNN, ABC TV Network Channels without Paying Monthly Fees

Robert Edmonds asked:

How to Watch NBC, CBS, FOX, CNN, ABC TV Network Channels without Paying Monthly Fees

More and more people are switching from satellite dish TV and cable TV to the free online TV option. This is as a result of high installation costs and monthly subscription fees of satellite and cable TV. More over cable TV is particularly expensive and its prices have kept increasing for the last five years. Dish satellite TV, despite relatively lower cost as compared to cable, depends on the weather conditions.

Comparison between Satellite Dish TV, Cable TV and Online Free TV

Satellite dish TV is however superior in terms of quality since it transmits TV signals in digital mode. Satellite dish TV therefore enjoys one advantage over cable TV because of the digital clear sound and picture quality. Te only downside to dish TV is that it is also not a cheaper option when compared to the absolutely free online TV channels.

You may not be able to get the HDTV on online TV or even the pay-per-view privileges. But the fact is that when it comes to accessing Free-To- Air TV channels, online Free Television wins the contest.

Accessing all network TV channels through the cheaper free online TV alternative

It is now possible to access the free network channels on your computer at home or work. Watching the CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, FOX and BBC news and movie network channels on your computer is an unbeatable advantage. In addition you can also access other world TV channels from over 70 countries and languages.

How does online TV software download work?

Online TV is free television that is provided over the internet all over the world. TV stations have realized the potential of the internet in transmitting video and audio signals and have started to offer their TV network services over the internet for free.

There are absolutely free TV websites that you can watch TV simply by logging in. these websites provide TV from the main networks for free but the problem is that they are usually heavily congested. The global traffic demanding free online TV simply overwhelms the servers.

You can read other reviews of one of the best network TV online softwares and watch a demo version by following the links below.

This is a good example of a pc TV software that I found highly recommended by most online reviews: Watch Nbc-Cbs-Abc-Fox-Cnn & Bbc TV Online Channels for Free

Satellite TV Seeker Exclusive Reports: Part III: Satellite TV for PC: Disruptive Technology. (Coming Soon!)

Satellite TV Seeker Exclusive Reports: Part IV: Satellite TV for PC: Product Reviews. (Coming Soon!)

PART II: Buying Satellite TV for PC

Recall the “If” I referred to in Part I? No? Allow me to quickly review my earlier statement:

“But wait: Am I claiming here, that you now can legally take your TV experience with you and literally tune into TV where ever there is Internet Service, for only a one-time charge for software that in effect magically transforms your PC into a TV, without any further ado?

In a single word: Yes! In two words: It Works! In three: Yes, It Works! In four: Yes, It Works, If!(Stay tuned for more on the ‘If.’)”

Well, thank you all for your indulgence. Now I’m going to finish work on the above pronouncement in a number of ways:

There are 10 Important Steps to observe if you want a good PCTV purchasing experience, right off. You do, don’t you? No skipping Steps then please!

1. Know what you want. There are at least three kinds of Satellite TV for PC/PCTV Products/Services advertised on the Internet at this writing: Software, Hardware, and what I’m going to call Noware, for lack of a better description. (As I have tested only one Software Solution at this point, some of what is to follow will be a bit sketchy on the precise details.)

WARNING: The following Hardware Solution is not Satellite TV for PC delivered via the Internet.

Hardware: Untested Product: Commonly called TV Cards, Video Cards, or TV Tuner Cards. These devices convert live Satellite, Cable or Over/Off The Air (OTA) Antenna Signals, (arriving via a Coax Cable and F-Connector through this kind of device) and deliver the rectified Signals through your PC, for ultimate display on your PC Monitor; as very clear audio and sharp video images.

Here’s how these Hardware devices work: You prepare your PC by inserting a Video Card into the Mother Board of your desktop computer and connecting the male F-Connector input with an available source.

You then load the software that probably came with the Video Card, fire up your PC, launch your new converter system, and viola: TV on your PC, which you can watch and listen to live, and/or record for future viewing.

Similarly, ‘Black Boxes’ are available which, generally are stand-alone decoders. That hopefully means you don’t need any software at all for these devices to function. (This may be good news for you long-suffering MAC owners.)

Similarly, an external PCMCIA Cardbus or PC Video Card can be used to connect Laptops, that is, if you have such a slot available on your PC. Simply insert the Video Card into the appropriate slot, install the software, per manufacturer’s instructions, naturally; connect to your external TV Signal, and watch and/or record your TV favorites, right on your PC.

You can view a range of these devices at www.tigerdirect.com if this is what you expect from Satellite TV for PC.

Note: Having read some of the reviews on these types of Products, I have no doubt these devices work, and considering the rather low price tags, from reputable manufacturers, rather amazingly well.

Some of these Video Cards and ‘Black Boxes’ are available with their own remote controls, and can even do sophisticated tricks like expensive DVRs. Having shopped tigerdirect.com successfully in the past, I can recommend this resource.

But remember, if you choose this Hardware Solution, all devices of the kind require some outside source, i.e.: Signal Feed. The original signal must come in from Cable, a Satellite System, or OTA.

The Video Card or ‘Black Box’ merely acts (in concert with the inner workings your PC) as a descrambler, and your Monitor simply acts as a TV Screen.

Software: Tested Product: Satellite TV for PC Elite Edition 2006. This Product fell far short of my expectations, as you will see in Satellite TV Seeker Exclusive Reports: Part IV: Satellite TV for PC: Product Reviews.

Still, it proved to me that this technology has merit; and potentially, a lot of merit.

Really Important Advice: How to distinguish Hardware Solutions from Software

Whereas Online Hardware Video Cards and ‘Black Boxes’ are advertised without reference to Programming or Internet, you can usually and easily spot PCTV Software offerings simply by reading the advertising which often includes: Hype on the hundreds, even thousands of programs freely available from a large number of countries, broadcast over the Internet or “Online.”

Here’s how these Software Solutions work: After you have completed your Online purchase, you may be issued a key, directly or possibly by Email, which you then input at the appropriate time during initial Set Up. You then continue to install the Software, and this should be a short process. Finally, you launch your new Software and tune in! Done and dusted!

Almost as exciting as the experience your parents (or maybe you) had with the first radio and TV in the 20th Century! (Possibly more exciting, if this is what you expected!)

WARNING: The following Noware Solution may or may not be a genuine Satellite TV for PC delivered via the Internet.

Noware: Untested Service: Touted as “The Web’s Leading Streaming-Media Entertainment Service.” This “Service” is a complete mystery to me at this writing. No Software and no Hardware? Under $20 USD? How can this “Service” amount to anything more than a scam? I am intrigued!

Rest assured, I’m intent on testing this, what ever it is, thoroughly, and I will have a complete review for you in: Satellite TV Seeker Exclusive Reports: Part IV: Satellite TV for PC: Product Reviews.

2. Know thy quarry. Know how to track that which you seek. Software, Hardware, or Noware; you’re not likely to find this kind of Product or Service Solution at your local Radio Shack, or sitting quietly on the shelves at places like Best Buy. (However, I see Circuit City is starting to offer Video Cards and ‘Black Boxes.’)

But, so far as PCTV Software and Noware Service are concerned, for the time being, this PCTV phenomenon is an experience which is strictly going to be found Online; at least until the Internet Beta Testing is done.

I will have more on this topic in: Satellite TV Seeker Exclusive Reports: Part III: Satellite TV for PC: Disruptive Technology.

3. Shop ’til you drop. Do yourself an enormous favor: Shop Google, MSN and Yahoo!. (You can thank me later.)

Use each of these keyword phrases on each Search Engine: Satellite TV for PC, Satellite TV on PC, Satellite TV to PC. (Since these searches appear not to be ‘case sensitive’ don’t worry if you mis-enter a word, fail to capitalize, or even misspell ’satellite.’)

When you find your quarry, look especially for resellers offering: a. A 100% guarantee, and b. Support. The more forms of support, the better, and c. VeriSign or Thawte assurance seals on the (initial) Splash or Landing Page.

Be bold. Venture beyond the advertising page. Click on the ‘Order Here’ Link and initiate a trial purchase. This exercise can be quite revealing without compromising your privacy at all.

Note: Be sure your Firewall is up during all phases of shopping! Also, I use and recommend Ad-Aware to scrub the ‘cookie jar’ after my shopping sessions. You can get a personal copy of this very fine anti-spyware free.

Visit: www.lavasoftusa.com

Also, look now for some indication that ClickBank, or PayPal will be involved in the transaction. Either way, this would be a good sign!

As you shop initially, keep a record of the places you visit. There may be many Affiliates selling the very same article using different URLs, at different prices!

In the second phase of shopping, (still with us?) you will be reviewing the ads you pulled up and hopefully printed out, during your first outing.

Later, in Phase Two, when you “go in for the kill” and actually buy, keep an eye out for any odd questions. Limit your interaction to answering the fewest number of queries possible. Double check all entries!

4. Know Thyself. If you like to shop, super! This will be fun, free fun initially, except for your time. Otherwise, if you really don’t like to shop, I recommend that you wait just a bit for my Product Reviews. Then at least you’ll know what not to buy!

5. Know thy Equipment. Know your System requirements and capabilities: Software/Hardware Requirements (if any): Windows is generally supported, MAC is generally not.

PC Hardware Requirements: Make sure the Software/Hardware device you order is compatible with your computer. You will also need some type of Audio Visual Hardware or a Multi-Media equipped PC.

Software Requirements: You will possibly need MSN Media Player or similar, like RealPlayer freeware to utilize your PCTV.

Bear in mind, as you shop, you may want the same Solution, or possibly Solutions for more than one PC.

6. Phase Two Shopping. Firewall up! Credit Cards at the ready! Consider your payment methods: PayPal and Major Credit Cards are advised. Using PayPal, MasterCard or Visa Credit, etc.; is relatively safe. If things get complicated at some point, at least you have some recourse later.

Don’t use a Debit Card, unless you can control the spending limit! These kinds of cards are linked directly to your bank balance!

7. Paper Trail. Make a record of your transaction as you proceed to checkout. Print out each page as you progress. Pay close attention to the process. No need to rush. (You can thank me later.)

8. Software Download and Installation. After your transaction is complete, or product receipt is issued by Email, and your new Software is installed, get right to your first trial. Don’t rush though: Test when your software installation (if any) is complete, not before.

Usually, and I say this from other similar experiences, there is a Readme.txt (User Guide) and a small Set Up file provided, which you need to review carefully and save for later use.

I generally let any software load in default mode, keeping things simple, being sure to save all files to my Desktop so I can find them later.

Usually too, there is a learning curve involved, as with anything new. I suspect from reading the user guides I have so far seen, that at least some of this technology, and its documentation, originated from someplace like China? (I don’t know for sure, just a wild guess!)

9. Testing. I recommend testing your Software/Hardware at home and ‘in the field.’ The Hardware and/or Software you select should work everywhere in the World. You might as well be aware of any limitations as early as possible, right?

Software Solutions should work on any type Internet connection, from dialup to T3/DS3; Cable, DSL and Satellite Service, as well as wired or wireless connections, any place the Internet is available. After all, one of the tremendous advantages of Satellite TV for PC via Internet, is that it is ultimately 100% mobile!

10. Obtaining a refund. OK, so not everything is perfect in this World of Online Shopping! Despite your careful step-by-step approach, you don’t like your new Product/Service!

If you find you’re not satisfied, after your Testing, as I was not with Satellite TV for PC Elite Edition 2006, get all your money back ASAP! Reputable resellers (or intermediaries like ClickBank) will generally refund your money, straight away, no questions asked.

Less reputable resellers may try to ignore you, ask silly questions, by Email or on the phone, or otherwise create needless delays in the refund process. Once you decide, thumbs down, stick to your guns, as they say. Be reasonable, be patient, but don’t settle for less than 100% satisfaction!

If you have a bad experience, don’t be too disappointed. Remember, there are many other PCTV Products and Services out there.

If all else fails, and ‘you can’t get no satisfaction’: contact me! stsinfo@satellitetvseeker.info

And there you have it for now: More than enough to get you through from first base to home plate, safely. How was your experience? Did you get to skip Step 10? Excellent! I would appreciate your feedback in any case. Let’s have the real story. Good, bad or otherwise.

Information Technology Certification

Bill Naugle asked:

Information Technology Certification

There is a growing industry in the field of information technology training for certification. The market is enormous with online certification training, textbooks, practice exam question and study guides. Products and services for certification training and preparation are many to choose from on the Internet. You can find many online instructors, textbooks, study guides and practice exam questions that will help you with gaining your information technology certification. The Internet has much to choose from. You may say that all you need to achieve a good start is to simply to use the search engines to find the best resources. Does any of us really know what to look for when it comes to the proper training and preparation for information technology certification?

Employers want qualified PC repair technicians, software troubleshooters, engineers and administrators. Employees want to advance their careers with a higher paying position. Certification is the answer for both employees and employers. Certification proves that you are qualified and suited for the appropriate position pertaining to the area of information technology work field you are pursuing.

There are many Information Technology Certifications such as: Microsoft, Comp TIA, MCDST, MCP, MCSA, MCSE, A+, MCPD, Comp TIA Network, Comp TIA Security, CCNA, CNA, CISA and many others. Many people are seeking to be certified in one or more areas of information technology. We all want to improve our chances of receiving the job we desire. There are many places in which you can receive training in order to be prepared for your certification exam. How much do you want to spend? Who can you trust in order to receive the appropriate information that is relevant to the actual exam?

Who can you turn to be completely prepared to take your final certification exam with paying the least amount out of your pocket? How you can pass your Information Technology Certification Exam on your first attempt? How hard is getting your certification? How much money will it cost me for training, books and exam fees? Does test taking make you nervous? Is it possible to be calm during a certification exam? Are there many facts to memorize in order to be prepared for a certification exam?

Many seekers of information technology certification training will ask how much work and study is really involved in order to pass the final exam on there first try?

What you would the best place to start for those who are seeking to be certified in any area of information technology?

There seems to be a lot to think about concerning information technology certification exam preparation. Many people purchase textbooks, study guides and practice test questions or receive online tutoring hoping to pass their Information Technology exams only to find out that the material they bought only covered some of the actual exam. You can have the confidence needed to pass your IT Certifications by knowing where to begin.

Do you think that you could learn more from someone who has actually been there? Knowing someone’s successes and failures could help minimize the work and cost that you will put into being prepared for your certification exam.

I have a suggestion. Do a Google search or start by viewing this Website: billnaugle.com I hope your success will be better than mine. Bill Naugle

Nitin Batra asked:

In the present market, LCD TVs are in great demand due to their extraordinary features. Their class apart features have replaced traditional televisions very soon. Initially, when cheap LCD TVs were launched there were the problems like angular resolution and ghosting problem. But, with increasing of cost effective technologies, now cheap LCD TV is no more technically compromised. These are now as technically advanced as costlier LCD TV.

LCD or also called Liquid Crystal Display comes with a flat panel that embedded with liquid crystal for displaying images. Two glass panels are filled with liquid crystal. When electricity passes through these crystals, pixels light up and as a result images produced.

Earlier it was Plasma that was ruling the TV market but after the arrival of LCD monitors, it soon replaced Plasma TV and of course traditional TV. These LCD TVs provide same picture quality as Plasma TV, but come at very low cost. With respect to traditional and Plasma TVs, LCD consumes less electricity. Also you do not need to put much effort for its maintenance. The screens of these TVs are also long lasting as compare to any other screens.

If compared with any other TVs, these LCD TVs are much more better than others. These TVs provide digital pictures and sharper images and as good as Plasma. You can never enjoy the quality of digital pictures with traditional TV. Due to its light weight and sleek designs, it is portable and can be placed anywhere in a room without taking much space. With its dynamic contrast ratio, viewer can enjoy clear and sharp images.

Its increasing popularity made it more demanding in the market and more companies are coming up with their LDC TV. Due to high competition in the TV market, these TVs are coming with low price as well as with more features, which has now made it much affordable to middle class people.

Some of the major companies that are in the the business of manufacturing LCD TV are Samsung, Haier, Sony and many more. These companies are leading firms that offer LCD TV with advanced features, like colour enhancer, dynamic contrast ratio and crystal clear panel to offer world-class quality picture. Many such TVs come with childlock feature to block some channels for children that are objectionable to parents.

Many other useful features that some of these latest LCD TVs possess including teletext, infra-red remote control, digital electronic programming manuals, digital TV tuner and all these are quite user-friendly.

For having the best LCD TV, you need do little market survey to own the best LCD TV. With many online retailers you can compare the prices and can find many lucrative deals.

Digital Tv: the New Golden Age of Television

Posted by | Posted in Cable And Satellite Tv | Posted on 02-04-2009

0

On February 17, 2009, Americans will enter the age of digital television — ready or not.

On that date, all full-power broadcast television stations will begin broadcasting only in digital, improving sound and picture quality as well as allowing for stations to offer multiple programming choices, called multicasting.

The government-mandated change will free up needed frequencies for public safety and new wireless communication offerings.

What’s the difference between analog and digital?

Since television was invented, stations have broadcast analog signals, or continuously varying radio waves. The familiar “snow” or ghosting of images is one problem with this way of sending broadcast signals.  Another issue is the limited bandwidth for an ever increasing number of television channels.

After the transition, broadcasts will be sent only via digital signals, which use a series of zeroes and ones to transmit data just as a computer does. The result is clearer, more reliable picture and sound as well as the opportunity for more programming options and interactive features.

Because of how a digital signal transmits information, it has more room for additional data. So now television stations that once broadcast on one channel, such as channel 3, can now broadcast on several segments of that channel, for example: 3-1, 3-2, 3-3, 3-4. Each channel could offer specialized programming for a particular audience.

HDTV is the highest level of digital television quality, but it is not the only one. SDTV, or standard definition television format, is the quality at which basic digital broadcasts will be provided. SDTV offers an enhancement over traditional analog broadcasts, but it is not as sharp as HDTV.

What do I need to do to be ready?

If you have an analog input television and currently receive your television service through cable or satellite, you will continue to receive your current stations without needing to purchase additional equipment.  However, to receive the full, original quality digital signal, you may need to upgrade your set or get special equipment from your service provider. Simply check with your cable or satellite company for more details.

Note that if your service goes out due to weather or other circumstances, you will no longer be able to receive traditional television channels without a digital tuner or digital-to-analog converter box.

If you have an analog input television and receive your signal via an outside antenna or “rabbit ears,” then you will need to purchase a digital-to-analog converter box to be able to continue watch television. Your set will continue to work as before with gaming consoles, DVD players, VCRs and other similar systems.

The new converter boxes are expected to be available in early 2008 and run between $50 and $70. From January 1, 2008 through March 31, 2009, all U.S. households are eligible for a government coupon program to offset $40 of the cost for up to two boxes per household.  A list of eligible boxes is available from the National Telecommunications and Information Administration, which manages the program.

Aside from buying a converter box or signing up for a cable or satellite service, you could also choose to buy a new digital-input ready television. After May 2007, all new televisions must be ready for receiving digital signals or be clearly marked that additional equipment will be needed.

These next generation television sets are the best way to experience all that digital television has to offer.

Plasma Television

Posted by | Posted in Advertising | Posted on 02-04-2009

Heather Colman asked:

The popularity of the plasma television has widely increased since its first release to the general public. People are now seeing the benefits of having a plasma tv in their home. Before, plasma televisions were so expensive but now, since a lot of manufacturers are making them, the competition has grown and the cost of the plasma tv eventually decreased.

Plasma televisions are often advertised in tv commercials and on the Internet. Great offers are always available. The advertisers often talk about the benefits of having a plasma television at home but what they do not usually mention is what a plasma tv really is and the technology behind it.

A plasma television contains transistor electrodes. The pixel cells of this new technology have transistor electrodes that prevent the scan lines from appearing in the tv screen. The pixels are made up of three fluorescent lights that are colored green, red and blue. Scan lines are usually noticeable on the conventional tv screens because these screens use beams of electrons.

Plasma television provides a higher resolution than any other type of tv monitors. It can display the high-definition signals of HDTelevision and DTelevision. Plasma tv’s can also receive the computer signals XGA, SVGA and VGA.

The most expensive and the most powerful plasma television can display over 16 million different colors. This means that the color of the pictures seen on the television is so much closer to its color in real life. Your old tv screen is not capable of displaying these kinds of colors.

The design of the plasma television is also for a specific purpose. Plasma tv’s are flat. The flat screen gives a wider viewing angle so wherever you are, you are sure to have a clearer view on the screen. You might have noticed that your ordinary tv has limited viewing angles because of its curved screen. It has a smaller viewing angle than the flat tv. The viewing angle of the plasma television is 160 degrees. Therefore, it is very suitable for group viewing.

Unlike the usual tv screens, the plasma television screens are space savers. With ordinary tv’s, you need a tv table or stand to hold your tv, occupying a lot of space. Since the screen is flat, only about 4 to 6 inches thick and approximately 50 inches wide, it can be hung on the wall or even on the ceiling if you want to view in a reclining position. Very thin materials are used to produce these wide but flat monitors. Since all the pixels are lit in the process, clear colors are produced.

Everybody would surely want to have his or her very own plasma television at home. It is definitely becoming the most popular way to watch your favorite movies and tv shows.
